Just east of Mooseville, Catnip County Chief Police Officer, Captain Boots McGraw is putting his paw down.

"Cavenagh Bridge can no longer sustain cattle, horses or anything weighing more than three hundred pounds," he said.

McGraw said it was important to get the word out about the bridge so people wouldn't accidentally violate the new order, but he worried the news would attract unwanted attention.

"I personally will patrol the area to stop violators," he said. "Whether those violators do it by accident or they're thrill seeking, adrenaline junkies looking for a rush makes no difference to me. This is a matter of life and death and it should be taken seriously."

There are no plans to build a new bridge or repair the old one at this time. The town is still trying to elect a new mayor. The previous mayor, Pouncer the Wonder Cat recently died after a long battle with leukemia.

Travelers exceeding the weight limit will have to go seventeen miles down Route 73 to Dunston Bridge if they need to get to North Catnip County.

"We know it's inconvenient, but my paws are tied. We won't be lenient with this order," McGraw warned.

An emergency mayoral election has been scheduled for this Saturday. The candidates are: Mr. Nibbles, the Grey Malkin, Jinxsy and running for the opposition party, Lucky the Dog.
