Written about Martin Luther King, Jr., Pride (In the Name of Love) is from U2's 1984 album, The Unforgettable Fire. The lyrics have received criticism for saying "early morning/April 4" when King's assassination had actually happened at night. Bono corrects the error in live performances.

Little Earthquakes is the final track on Tori Amos's debut solo 1992 album of the same name. Following the break-up of her synth-pop band, Y Kant Tori Read she recorded the album Little Earthquakes with Capitol Records. The album marked Amos's status as a pioneer for female singer/songwriters.

Bad, Bad Leroy Brown was written by Jim Croce and released in 1973 on the album, Life and Times. The song spent two weeks at number-one and earned two Grammy nominations. It was Croce's last hit before he died.

The Whispers released Rock Steady in 1987 for their eighteenth album, Just Gets Better with Time. Rock Steady was only the second Number 1 hit for the band. The first was And the Beat Goes On, released in 1980.

Honky Cat is from Elton John's 1972 album, Honky Chåteau. The song charted much better in the U.S. than it did in Britain, but it's become a staple Elton John song, and at Vinyl, it's our Karaoke Night go-to.

Take Me With U is a duet by Prince and Apollonia Kotero. The song was originally intended for the Apollonia 6 album but was used in the 1984 movie Purple Rain instead. There are longer versions of the song, but we like the short one.

Holy War is from Alicia Keys's album, HERE. Released in 2016, HERE is the first album from Keys in four years. Though the album hasn't proved as commercially-successful as other albums, it still topped the charts in the UK and US.
