Basketball was originally recorded by Kurtis Blow for his 1984 album, Ego Trip. It's probably one of the most famous songs about the sport. In 2002, Lil' Bow Wow recorded a version, featuring Jermaine Dupri, Fabolous, and Fundisha, for the Like Mike movie soundtrack.

One-hit wonder, Skee-Lo released I Wish on March 27, 1995. It was the rapper’s only single. Recorded for his debut album of the same name, the song hit No. 13 on Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for a Grammy but lost to Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise.

A parody of Love Jones, Cheech & Chong's Basketball Jones is from, Los Cochinos (1973). George Harrison and Carole King were among the musicians on the record, and Michelle Phillips and The Blossoms provided the cheerleader vocals. It's the only parody to out-perform the original.

Shooting Hoops was written by Garrett Dutton and is from G. Love & Special Sauce’s 1994 debut album, G. Love and Special Sauce. It didn’t perform as well as Baby’s Got Sauce, but Shooting Hoops is a laid back jam that was inspired by a game of P-I-G after a show one night.

Space Jam is by Quad City DJ's and was included on the 1996 soundtrack for the movie, Space Jam, starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes cast. Though it wasn't as popular as R. Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly, we think the song is a great Friday night groove.

Do the John Wall by Troop 41 was released on iTunes in 2010. It's based on The John Wall Dance from University of Kentucky/Washington Wizards point guard, John Wall. Wall's dance was inspired by Sugar Shizz's The Shizz, which was featured in rapper Kenzo's Do the Shizz music video.

Sweet Georgia Brown was first recorded by Ben Bernie and His Roosevelt Orchestra in 1925. Brother Bones and His Shadows covered it in 1949. That version became the theme for the Harlem Globetrotters in 1952. The Globetrotters have played more than 26,000 exhibition games in 122 countries.
