If you've come to a brick wall on a project you've been working on, try writing something else instead.

Poetry is a great writing form with very few rules. Take haiku, for example. There are no specific rules for writing haiku but the structure is always the same.
  1. There are only three lines, totaling 17 syllables throughout.
  2. The first line must be 5 syllables.
  3. The second line must be 7 syllables.
  4. The third line must be 5 syllables.
Haiku can be silly, playful, thoughtful or serious. There are no rules, except the syllables, which is why they're excellent at getting our mind off of the task at hand so that you can go back later a bit more refreshed.

Read Some Haikus for Inspiration
Example Haiku:

Write a haiku now.
It will help you break the bricks.
So you can write on.
