As you wind down your work week and wrap up last minute details before the weekend begins, the Mayor of Mooseville wants you to add "take a recess break" to your to-do list.

"September 14 just happens to be my birthday, but it also is Worldwide Recess Day," the Mayor said. "What better way to celebrate my birthday than to go outside and play?"

Sponsored by Keen, Worldwide Recess Day encourages people to take 10 minutes from their day to go outside and play.

To celebrate the festivities Keen is hosting a photo contest where participants are asked to snap photos of their recess and post them on Instagram at #take10. Winners will be announced every hour and receive a free pair of Keens.

"Recess is so important in our daily lives," the Mayor said. "We forget how critical it is to our well-being the older we get. We get so caught up with work that we ignore the power of play."

Worldwide Recess Day is guaranteed to be fun for all who participate. Whether you go outside to read, Hacky Sack, swing on a jungle gyms, or tap dance in the street is irrelevant. The important thing is take at least 10 minutes this Friday to recess.
