Written by Don Schlitz, The Gambler was recorded by several artists, including Johnny Cash in 1978 for the album Gone Girl, but it was Kenny Rogers’ version for the 1978 album, The Gambler, that hit #1 on the country charts in the US and crossed over to the pop charts.

SONG OF THE tuesDAY
Simply Irresistible is from Robert Palmer's 1988 album, Heavy Nova. The song hit No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100 and is one of Palmer's most recognized songs. It's been featured in pop culture and media, and the music video has been parodied countless times.

SONG OF THE wednesDAY
Blue Collar Man (Long Nights) was the first single released from Styx's 1978 album, Pieces of Eight. It was composed by Tommy Shaw after hearing the sound of his motor boat engine when it failed to start. He said it sounded like a good riff. The song hit No. 21 in the US and No. 9 in Canada.

Jump is the first single from Van Halen's 1984 album, 1984. The song was released in December 1983 and is the band's biggest hit, spending five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100. It was during the success of the 1984 album that David Lee Roth left the band to pursue a film and solo career.

Dancing Queen is the lead single from ABBA's fourth studio album, Arrival (1976). The song was a worldwide hit, landing at the top spot in 17 countries. It's ABBA's only number one in the US. It's been covered by numerous artists, and its music video has more than 247 million views on YouTube.

Written by Billy Idol and Tony James, Dancing with Myself was first released by their band, Generation X (later Gen X), for Kiss Me Deadly (1980). Idol re-recorded it and released it as a single in 1982 for his solo EP, Don't Stop. His version reached No. 27 on Billboard Hot Dance Club Play.

From the album, Simple Pleasures (1988), Don't Worry, Be Happy was written by Bobby McFerrin and originally released in conjunction with the movie, Cocktail. It was re-released the same year and became the first a cappella song to hit No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.
