Monday Monday - The Mamas & the Papas
Monday Monday was written by John Phillips in 1966 and was recorded by the Mamas & the Papas. It was their only number-one hit in the U.S. and their best live recording was in 1967 at the Monterey Pop Festival.

New Sensation - INXS
New Sensation is the third single from Kick, the third album from Australian band INXS. Originally released in 1987 the song is about a party lifestyle and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) - Looking Glass
Brandy was written by Elliot Lurie in 1972 and recorded by Looking Glass for their debut album. The song is supposedly about Mary Ellis, a spinster who lived in New Brunswick, New Jersey in the early 1800s.

Jive Talkin' - Bee Gees
Bee Gees released Jive Talkin' in 1975 as a single from the album Main Course. The song was originally called "Drive Talking" and was commonly known as the Bee Gees' comeback song, marking their first hit since 1971.

Purple Rain - Etta James
Etta James covered Prince's Purple Rain on her 2006 album, All the Way. Following her 2004 Blues to the Bone album, Etta chose a set of songs that had little to do with her typical sound. We think her Purple Rain is top notch.

Something Real - Indigo Girls
Something Real is from the 2004 album, All That We Let In. It was the ninth studio album from the Indigo Girls. The cover art for the album was done by alternative comic artist, Jaime Hernandez of Love and Rockets fame.

Down to the River to Pray - Alison Krauss
Down to the River to Pray is an American Christian folk hymn. The exact origin of the song is unknown, but research suggests it came from an African-American slave. Alison Krauss does a dang good version.
