SONG OF THE monDAY
The Go-Go's originally released We Got the Beat in the UK in 1980. It was released in the US in 1982. The group had re-recorded it for their debut album, Beauty and the Beat (1981). The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has named We Got the Beat one of its 500 Songs That Shaped Rock-n-Roll.

SONG OF THE tuesDAY
No Rain was released as the second single for Blind Melon’s 1992 debut album, Blind Melon. The song hit No. 20 on Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Album and Rock Tracks charts. The music video features a Bee Girl character played by Heather DeLoach.

SONG OF THE wednesDAY
Q.U.E.E.N. is from Janelle Monáe's 2013 album, The Electric Lady. It features Erykah Badu and is an empowerment song for oppressed people. The title means Queer Untouchables (the poor) Emigrants Excommunicated (in prison) Negroid. Prince said the music video was the best of that year.

SONG OF THE thursDAY
Long Tall Glasses, sometimes Long Tall Glasses (I Can Dance), is from Leo Sayer’s second studio album, Just a Boy (1974). It hit No. 4 in the U.K. and became Sayer’s first Top 10 hit in the U.S., landing at No. 9 on Billboard Hot 100. The song also topped the charts around the world.

SONG OF THE friDAY
Inspired by the 1984 movie Amadeus, Rock Me Amadeus was written by Falco and producers Bolland & Bolland. It was released in 1985 from the album, Falco III. The song hit No. 1 on every mainstream U.S. chart, making Falco the first German-speaking artist to achieve this feat.

SONG OF THE saturDAY
Written by Otis Redding and Steve Cropper, (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay was recorded in 1967. The second session was on Dec. 7, just three days before Redding died in a plane crash. The song was released in 1968 and is the first posthumous single to hit No. 1 in US history.

Heaven Beside You was originally released in 1996 from the third Alice in Chains album, Alice in Chains (1995). The song was written by Jerry Cantrell after a break-up with his girlfriend. The acoustic version of the song appears on the album MTV Unplugged" Alice in Chains (1996).
