Inner City Blues was released on Marvin Gaye's 1971 landmark album, What's Going On. The song depicts the bleak economic situation in inner-city America and the struggles of the people living in poverty.

Money - Pink Floyd
Money is from Pink Floyd’s 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon. Released as a single it was the band’s first hit in the US. Written by Roger Waters, it’s a dang good song to kick off the second side of a dang good album.

Rich Girl - Gwen Stefani
Rich Girl is on Gwen Stefani's 2004 debut solo album Love, Angel, Music, Baby. Featuring Eve, Rich Girl is a remake of a Louchie Lou & Michie One song, which was an adaptation of Fiddler On the Roof's If I Were a Rich Man.

Steve Miller Band's Take the Money and Run is about Billy Joe and Bobby Sue, two bandits on the run in Texas, and the law who are chasing them. Run-DMC recorded a version of the song for their final album, Crown Royal.

The O'Jay's For the Love of Money is a reference to 1 Timothy, 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil. After the song gained popularity the group complained that the message was spun into one of pro-idolatry and not of awareness and self-control as intended.
