In honor of freezing our patookies off this week, we've got a seven-song tribute to all things unburrably cold.

SONG OF THE monDAY
Baby, It's Cold Outside was written by Frank Loesser for the 1949 movie, Neptune's Daughter. The song earned an Academy Award and has been covered by numerous artists since its release. Our favorite is Pearly Bailey's version, featuring Hot Lips Page.

Cold As Ice is from Foreigner's 1977 debut studio album, Foreigner. Originally the B-side for Feels Like the First Time, Cold As Ice hit No. 6 on Billboard Hot 100 and was used in a 1978 Saturday Night Live skit. The single version is shorter than on the album and adds an orchestra track

Cold is by Annie Lennox and was released as the fourth single from her 1992 debut solo album, Diva. The song was successful on the UK charts, but the album entered the charts at number one and was nominated for a Grammy Award for album of the year.

In the Cold, Cold Night is from The White Stripes 2003 album, Elephant, which won a Grammy for Best Alternative album and was nominated for Album of the Year. With lead vocals and percussion by Meg White, we think In the Cold, Cold Night is a slinky and simple song worth the listen.

Cold, Cold Heart was written by Hank Williams and originally released in 1951. Williams adapted it from the T. Texas Tyler song, You'll Still Be In My Heart. There have been many covers of Cold, Cold Heart, but Norah Jones's version from her 2002 album, Come Away With Me is pretty dang good.

Cold Hearted was released from Paula Abdul's 1989 album, Forever Your Girl. The song hit No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 and was ranked as the sixth best song of 1989. Cold Hearted became Abdul's third single from that album to hit the top of the charts.

Cold Day In July was written by Richard Leigh. Though Suzy Bogguss and Joy Lynn White each recorded the song first, it was the Dixie Chicks's version that landed at No. 10 on Billboard Hot Country. It was released in 2000 as the fourth single from The Chicks's 1999 album, Fly.
