"On A Boat" by Willoughby Snodgrass
The winner of the 2011 Summer Fun Photo contest is Willoughby Snodgrass for her submission, "On A Boat."
Sponsored by the Mooseville Arts Council, the Summer Fun Photo contest challenged aspiring photographers to try to capture the essence of "summer fun."
MAC received tens of submissions, but narrowed the finalist down to Snodgrass (cashier at the Mooseville Bank & Trust), Janus Miller (7th grader at Mooseville Junior High. Go, Bees!), and Fredrico Valupe (assistant winemaker at Mooseville Vineyards).
"It was a tough decision this year," said Marsha Clementine, president of MAC. "We had a lot of great photos to choose from."
Valupe took the bronze with the photo, "Corndog." Miller took silver with "The Swimming Hole," but it was Snodgrass who won the gold and a $15 gift certificate to Mooseville Café, 123 Antler Drive.
"We want to thank everyone who participated in the contest," Clementine said. "Art is such an important part of life here in Mooseville, and the submissions we received really showcased how talented and creative our community is."
