In honor of Maurice White's passing, we've got a weekend of Earth, Wind & Fire.
|
Founded by Maurice White, Earth, Wind & Fire was the first African-American act to sell out Madison Square Garden, have won a bajillion awards, are Rock and Roll and Songwriter Hall of Fame inductees, and have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This band is out of sight!

FRIDAY
Boogie Wonderland (1979) is a classic of the disco age. Released on the album I Am, the song was written for the Emotions and sold over a million copies.
SUNDAY
EWF's September (1978) is one of our favorite songs at Vinyl. Written by Maurice White, Al McKay and Allee Willis, this song will have you dancing no matter what month it is.

SATURDAY
Let's Groove is from EWF's album Raise! (1981). It was produced during a time when disco was receiving backlash. Punk was the new sound, but Let's Groove was well-received due because it was catchy.
