Alicia Keys was born Alicia Augello Cook on Jan. 25, 1981 in Hell's Kitchen New York. In 1985, at four years-old, she made her first television debut in The Cosby Show. Her debut album, Songs in A Minor was released in 2001 and won five Grammy Awards.
She has made six albums and is an avid philanthropist. She's the co-founder and Global Ambassador for Keep A Child Alive and started a makeup free campaign. She's married to Swizz Beatz and they have two children, Egypt and Genesis. |
From the very first note, we've been fans of Alicia Keys. In her 20-year career she's earned 15 Grammy Awards, sold over 35 million albums and 30 million singles worldwide, and is considered one of the most influential artists of the past 25 years.
She's a pop icon who boldly displays a makeup-free face to the public whether she's attending an award show or acting as a coach on the Voice. She's earned her stripes, and we salute her this week with seven must-have Alicia Keys tunes. |
