Kung Fu Fighting is by Carl Douglas and was released during the height of the chopsocky film craze in 1974 from Kung Fu Fighting and Other Great Love Songs. It hit No. 1 in 12 countries and has sold over 11 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.

SONG OF THE friDAY
On July 20, 1973, Bruce Lee slipped into a coma and died at the age of 32. Though his time on earth was short, his legacy has lived on. Today, we pay tribute to this legend with The Dragon’s Heartbeat, the theme for the 1993 film, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, composed by Randy Edelman.

Techno Syndrome (Mortal Kombat), by The Immortals, is from Mortal Kombat: The Album (1994) but was released as a single in 1993 for the launch of the video game. It’s often called the Mortal Kombat Theme because of its use in the 1995 movie and the multiple remixes for the franchise.

You're the Best was composed by Bill Conti, with lyrics by Allee Willis, and performed by Joe "Bean" Esposito for the soundtrack to the 1984 movie, The Karate Kid. The song was originally intended for Rocky III (1982) and was also turned down for the soundtrack to Flashdance (1984).

My Girlfriend Is a Black Belt In Karate is by Lucid Monkey from No Butterfly, No Bee. We don't know much about Lucid Monkey except that they're from the UK, are available on Soundcloud, ReverbNation, and Spotify, and their song, My Girlfriend Is a Black Belt In Karate, is an awesome jam.

The Last Dragon is the theme song for the 1985 movie, Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon. It was written by Bruce Miller and Norman Whitfield and performed by Dwight David. Released in 1985, the song didn't chart, but it's still one of our favorite jams to work out to.

SONG OF THE thursDAY
The Glow was written and recorded by Willie Hutch for the soundtrack to the 1985 movie, The Last Dragon (sometimes Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon). Though the song wasn’t a huge commercial success, it marked the return of Willie Hutch to Motown after he had left the label in 1977.
