The Cranberries are from Limerick, Ireland. Limerick sits on the River Shannon and the Vikings once called it Hlymrekr. A limerick is also a funny verse with an AABBA rhyme scheme, though the connection to the city is a bit obscure. Linger isn't a limerick but it's a dang good song.

The Wolfe Tones are from the suburbs of Dublin and take their name from the Irish rebel and patriot, Theobald Wolfe Tone. The Wolfe Tones began recording in 1963 and celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2014. Altogether they've recorded 16 studio albums.
